Top 5 Salads in Panama City, FL

I've recently discovered that I don't have a "Top 10 Restaurants" in Panama City, FL. I go to restaurants based on what I'm in the mood to eat. I love salad and there are so many excellent salads in Panama City, FL, you just have to know where to go. Here's my list of top 5 salads in Panama City, FL.

The combination of sweet peppers, capers, feta cheese, avocado & the vinaigrette dressing makes my taste buds dance with every bite....and I'm not being overly dramatic. Add freshly grilled shrimp and you've got a show stopper, plus a high-protein, satisfying and delicious meal. Not to mention the service and atmosphere at Alice's on Bayview is excellent. Located directly across from the St. Andrews marina, this is a great spot for a daytime meet up or an evening walk along the water, a beautiful sunset and a wonderful dinner. Alice's on Bayview often has live music and it's a great spot for Sunday brunch too!

I'm not experimental and I don't know what prompted me to try this salad several years ago, but it was life changing. Uncle Ernie's is one of those bay front places you can go anytime day or night. And this salad never fails to please. The garlic dressing sets off the dark greens, roasted whole red peppers, fresh mozzarella and fresh tomatoes. This is a flavor combination that is so simple, but is a real hearty meal that won't leave you wanting. Don't forget Uncle Ernie's has a dock, so this is a great place to land after a day on the boat!

To me, there's a few things that disappoint me when I go golfing, one of them is a clubhouse with no decent food. Have no fear, Bay Point Golf Club to the rescue! They have so many good dishes, but we're here to talk about one of my favorite salads. It's that typical spring mix with strawberries, greens, candied pecans and a great dressing. But, Bar 72 spices it up with avocado and bacon! It's another hearty salad for those of us who need an actual meal when we eat a salad. P.S. Bay Point is also my favorite golf club in Panama City, FL.

It might look like a bore, but it is spicy! If you're on the move & need a quick meal, this is my go-to when I have 30 minutes or less. The combination of the olives, onions, and the Romano Vinaigrette give this dark-greens salad all the flavor. This is my favorite lunch time salad. Add grilled shrimp and you are all set. Don't forget the view at this bay-front restaurant! It's the best spot to take in a mid-day view of the beauty of the bay or an amazing sunset on the top deck.

I do my best to support local businesses, which is easy because most chain restaurant foods don't impress me, however Newks Black and Bleu is my go-to when I'm looking for a classic steak and blue cheese salad. It features medium-rare tenderloin steak, mixed greens, Bleu Cheese, pecans, grape tomatoes, red onion. Tossed with creamy bleu cheese dressing. Enjoy!
